| The Douglas Dispatch, Douglas, Arizona Wednesday, August 20, 2014 Ignacio "Kito" Carbajal Ignacio "Kito" Carbajal, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 4 at the young age of 71. Kito was born on July 30, 1943 in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School in 1963. After honorably serving in the Army National Guard, he took advantage of an opportunity to work at the telephone company, eventually retiring after 30 successful years. Kito worked seven more years at SunVan and was known as "the driver with the pretty, white hair." He was a loving man, and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He built a house for his family, which turned out to be a home for anyone who had the privilege of visiting, for countless celebrations, times of need, or just to enjoy a "cold one". Spending time with his family and friends was his greatest joy. He was a devoted Raiders fan and never missed the chance to cheer on the 'Cats'. Kito is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elva "Nene"; daughters Marisa, Rona and Arlene (Kevin) Alexander; granddaughter Bryanna Calvillo and grandsons Frankie Calvillo, Carder and Reilan Alexander; sisters Oralia Flores, Irene Samaniego, Beatrice Macias, Eva Cordova and brothers Daniel, David and Eddie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kito was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Maria Carbajal and brother Frank. Services were held in Tucson on August 9, 2014. |
