Ignacio "Kito" Carbajal

Ignacio "Kito" Carbajal, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son,
brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 4 at
the young age of 71.

Kito was born on July 30, 1943 in Douglas and graduated from Douglas
High School in 1963.

After honorably serving in the Army National Guard, he took
advantage of an opportunity to work at the telephone company,
eventually retiring after 30 successful years.

Kito worked seven more years at SunVan and was known as "the driver
with the pretty, white hair." He was a loving man, and was loved and
respected by all who knew him.

He built a house for his family, which turned out to be a home for
anyone who had the privilege of visiting, for countless
celebrations, times of need, or just to enjoy a "cold one".

Spending time with his family and friends was his greatest joy. He
was a devoted Raiders fan and never missed the chance to cheer on
the 'Cats'.

Kito is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elva "Nene"; daughters
Marisa, Rona and Arlene (Kevin) Alexander; granddaughter Bryanna
Calvillo and grandsons Frankie Calvillo, Carder and Reilan
Alexander; sisters Oralia Flores, Irene Samaniego, Beatrice Macias,
Eva Cordova and brothers Daniel, David and Eddie; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Kito was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Maria Carbajal
and brother Frank.

Services were held in Tucson on August 9, 2014.
