Mikila (Carbajal) Johnson

Mikila Johnson (Carbajal) passed away on August 4th, 2017 surrounded
by family in Scottsdale, AZ. Mikila was born on November 28th, 1974
(Thanksgiving Day) in Phoenix, Arizona to Jeralyn Carbajal. For the
first 10 years of her life, Mikila lived in and attended elementary
school in Avondale and Phoenix. In 1984 her Mother married Delano
Montoya, who loved and raised her as his own. In 1985 her family
moved to Flagstaff where she continued attending school, graduating
from Coconino High School in 1993. Mikila then moved back to the
Phoenix area where she lived in Glendale for many years, moving
recently to Northeast Phoenix.

In 2002, Mikila wed Wayne Johnson. Together they had a son, Josef W.
Johnson, who Mikila cherished. Mikila touched many people during her
life with her personality, positive attitude, and ability to
overcome the many struggles she faced. Mikila will be missed not
just by her family, but also by the many friends she made over the
years.

In addition to her parents and son, Mikila is survived by her
Grandmother, Leonora Carbajal of

Phoenix. Brother, Kilee Carbajal (Lianne) of Phoenix. Niece, Natalee
Carbajal, and nephews, Adrian

Mohamed and Lorenzo Carbajal. Aunts Audrey Mitchell (Don) of Las
Vegas and Yolanda Powell

(Doug) of Phoenix and numerous cousins and extended family.
Mikilawas preceded in death by

Grandparents Eugene Carbajal, Sam and Jenny Montoya, and Uncle Eddie
Carbajal.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 19th at St.
Helen Catholic Parish 5510 W. Cholla St. Glendale, AZ 85304. Rosary
will begin at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow
at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix,
AZ 85024 at 1 PM.
