Don was a veteran (U.S. Army captain) having served in Germany. He then had a successful career as a mainframe computer programmer, science fiction author and businessman. Don was very much vested in his Scottish heritage as a Clan Hay member. Don spent the majority of his career and life in western Pennsylvania, having moved to Lake Havasu City in 2006. Don was a member of the Bethany Bible Church in Lake Havasu where a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Don is survived by his brother Timothy Hodge and sister-in-law Christine Hodge of Lake Havasu City. Also of Lake Havasu City are his niece Tracy Baker and her children Justin Higgins, Jacob Higgins and Brianna Baker. Tim’s son Steven Hodge lives in Oswego, N.Y. with his wife Lindsey and two children, Lucian and Lily. Don’s nephew Jeremy Smith lives in Cocoa, Fla. There are also many cousins in the upstate New York area (Glens Falls) near the Wright family farm. Our thanks go out to Hospice of Havasu, as Don went peacefully in his sleep with no pain. We would also like to thank Havasu Nursing Center for their excellent and caring service. Don had a truly great medical team in Lake Havasu City. |
