| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on M. Lauraine Wessel passed away at 91 years of age on Aug. 15, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. Lauraine was the only child born to Jesse and Alberta McCormick in the little town of Wamego, Kan. Her parents were farmers so she was raised on a farm. She attended Washburn Rural High School. Lauraine was married to Lloyd Wessel, July 7, 1945 at Westside Christian Church in Topeka, Kan.; they were married for 70 years. Lauraine worked at the telephone company in Topeka, Kan. and San Bernardino Community Hospital in San Bernardino, Calif. She enjoyed camping and boating with her family and friends, crossword and word search puzzles, “Wheel of Fortune” and loved watching “Dancing with the Stars.” She also played softball which is how she met her husband. Lauraine is survived by her Aunt Thelma Pope; son, Jerry; daughters, Carolyn, Sandra (Bob), Connie; grandchildren, Jeff, Bonnie (Randy), Jeremy; great-grandchildren Shyann, Andrew, Nathan and grand-dog Chevy. She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; mother, Alberta; and father, Jesse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu or Polidori House in Lake Havasu City.
