Carl Albert Rovey

It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Rovey announces his
passing on Aug. 14, 2015 age 97. He is survived by wife, Jean Rovey;
sister, Ruth Pranspill-Schaefer; daughter, Donna McCullough (Don);
grandchildren, Deborah Price (Art), Darryl McCullough (Kelly), Tiffany
Lowe (Dave), Denton Brummund (Michelle) and numerous great-
grandchildren.

He is predeceased by brothers Arnold, Art and Emil Rovey and daughter
Cheryl Rovey.

Carl was born, Feb. 25, 1918 in Phoenix, where he was raised on the
family dairy farm. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1936 and
went on to attend University of Arizona, graduating from the School of
Agriculture with a Bachelor of Science in 1940.

Carl and Jean (Packer) were married, Oct. 13, 1940 in Eston,
Saskatchewan, Canada. Carl moved to Glendale, and purchased a dairy
farm that same year. After four years, he relocated to Saskatchewan to
manage the Packer family farm. Carl was active in the community by
leading the local 4-H groups and United Church Boys camps at Outlook,
SK. He was instrumental in the development and management of the Eston
Riverside Regional Park. Carl was director of the Agriculture District
and chairman of the United Church of Canada District Program.

Carl retired from farming in 1975 at which time Carl and Jean acquired
their retirement property in Lake Havasu City. They lived part-time in
Arizona in the winter months and Saskatchewan in the summers. Carl
kept active by gaining a deacon role in the Community Presbyterian
Church in Lake Havasu City as well as singing in the choir and
maintaining the church grounds and properties. In 2013, Carl relocated
to a retirement community in Swift Current, SK. where he lived until
his passing.

Carl will be sadly missed by his family, friends and various
communities.

Park or the Arthritis Society, Saskatchewan Branch.
