Dick was born in Toledo, Ohio to Ferdinand and Frances Thomas. In
1950, he joined the U.S. Navy training as an x-ray technician. Serving
in Hawaii, he met his future wife, Noreen. Discharged in 1959, he
enrolled at Toledo University.

In 1960, Dick and Noreen were wed in Seattle; they were married for 55
years. He attended Griffin Murphy Business College, majoring in
accounting. During his 32 years of employment with Boeing he worked in
estimating, accounting, and budgeting and was promoted to Manager of
Budgeting in the Materiel Division. He managed a yearly budget of $275
million and assisted with a hardware 10 year budget of $126 billion
retiring from Boeing in 1994.

While living in Washington, Dick was active in Republican politics
serving as Snohomish County GOP Chairman, was a candidate for the
State Legislature; and served on the Mukilteo School Board for 12
years. Volunteering for many youth sports activities, he took his
son’s soccer team on a three week tour of Germany in 1977.

Dick and Noreen moved to Havasu to enjoy the sunshine and allow Dick
to pursue his golfing passion. He served as President of the Golden K
Kiwanis, joined the Masons, and Shrine. Dick traveled extensively
throughout his lifetime.

Dick is survived by his wife, Noreen; son, Paul (Julie);
granddaughter, Sadie; grandsons, Nick (Stephanie), Brian; three great-
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, two brothers; and
two nephews.

Services followed by a reception will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug.
15, at Community Presbyterian Church in Lake Havasu City.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
