She was 80 years old. Originally from Butler, Pa., Darlene was a long-time resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She lived in Lake Havasu City for the last 15 years. Darlene had a successful career as a customer service representative of Ohio Edison in Akron, Ohio where she retired. She was always proud to work there. After moving to Lake Havasu City, Darlene was employed by Dunlap’s Department Store, where she was nicknamed “Angel.” She loved living in Lake Havasu. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She was always so proud of all of them. She will be remembered by her family as sharp, fun and “cool”, and a successful woman, especially from a time when it was not common for a woman to have a successful career. She always had good advice when needed and just being around her made everything “better”. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Florence and Joseph Kopie and her three brothers, George (Rowena), Ronald (Roxie) and Joel Kopie. She is survived by her children, Diana Dawara of Lake Havasu City; Anthony Spinelli (Becky) of Tyrone, Ga.; and Donna Spinelli of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jessica (Spinelli) Rowe (Nathan), Joseph Spinelli, Amy Spinelli; and her newest treasure, great-grandchild, Hudson Rowe. She also leaves step- grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. No services are to take place. |
