Sibby (McLaws) Peterson

Sibby McLaws Peterson passed away January 4, 2018. She was born July
4, 1914, in Joseph City, Ariz., to parents John W. and Ellen Elsie
McLaws.

Sibby is survived by her daughter Sandy, son Mark, two
grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Sibby and husband Joe married in 1936 and moved to Prescott in 1942.
They established Peterson’s Jewelry in 1950 and retired in 1971.

Sibby’s family was always first and she was the glue that held
everything together. She also enjoyed her bowling in many leagues
and tournaments. She held office in many bowling associations and
was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from Central Yavapai
Bowling Association. Sibby and husband Joe were members of Smoki.
She participated in many of the ceremonial dances.

A heart-felt thank-you from our family to the wonderful caregivers
at Westfield Assisted Living and Maggie’s Hospice. Visitation will
be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 3-5 p.m., at the Hampton
Funeral Home 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott, Ariz.

Graveside services will be on Friday, January 12, 2018, 1 p.m. at
the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Ariz.

Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
