| Arizona Daily Star, The (Tucson, AZ) - Friday, January 9, 2015 Bert Ramirez An extra-ordinary man, loved by all who knew him. Born in Tucson on December 30, 1924 to Mariano and Laura Ramirez, was gently taken by Angels to heaven on January 4, 2015. He was so proud to have served in the Army during WWII in the Southern Pacific. Bert was a respected member of American Legion Post 59 Cocio-Estrada, retired from TEP after 32 loyal years and member of the Retirees Club, President of Cathedral's St. Vincent de Paul Society for over 30 years. Bert is preceded in death by his sister, Nellie and is survived by his wife, Josie of 65 years, the love of his life; children, Yvonne, David (Becky) and Eric (Elaine); grandchildren, Kenneth, Aaron, Valerie, Matthew, Eric, Toni and Hannah Jo; great-grandson, Cameron. Also sister, Mary Redick; brother-in-law, Gilbert Castro; nieces, Laura Urias, Cynthia Johnson and Cari Gibson, their families and many cousins. Bert was a gem among men, an excellent husband, father, role model, an inspiration, a true participant of life and living, believed in family and vacations, honorable, unselfish beyond measure with his time, caring and talents. Viewing at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass is Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
