Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Monday, July 27, 2015 <<< Henry George Dixon, IV passed away at 87 years of age, July 20, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Grace and Henry George Dixon, III, Dec. 20, 1927 in London, England. He wed Joyce L. Dixon, Oct. 25, 1947 at St. Mary’s, Wickford, Essex, England; they were married for 67 years. Henry joined the Royal Marines at 17 years of age in 1944 and he was stationed in Kiel, Germany where he began a short career in flat track motorcycle racing. He founded Dixon & Son Auto & Tire Inc. in California in 1974. He enjoyed travel, company conventions, reading history and most of all spending time with his wife. He was a member of Scott’s Valley Lions Club, Scott’s Valley Banner, and National Tire Dealer & Retreader’s Association. Henry is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Dixon of Lake Havasu City; son, David H. Dixon of Felton, Calif.; daughter, Maureen C. Davenport of Lake Havasu City; brothers, Arthur and Dennis Dixon of England; sisters, Grace and Hilda of England; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Henry George Dixon; and his three sisters, Doris, Florence Dixon, and Gladys Sims. Donations may be made to the Polidori Hospice House, Lake Havasu City. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
