| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Sunday, July 26, 2015 <<< On July 17th, 2015 Laurel Mallory lost her life-long battle with cancer. Laurel was born June 1, 1954 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Thomas and Marjorie Again. Laurel grew up in Southern California where she graduated from Alhambra High School. In 1978, she moved to Lake Havasu City where she lived until 1998. Laurel had a dream to help others who were cancer survivors/victims. Laurel enrolled in school and received her doctorate and PhD in Psychology. She went to work for a place very close to her heart, the City of Hope National Cancer Research Center in Duarte, Calif., the same hospital that had treated her through the years for her cancer. Upon learning of her latest bout with cancer, Laurel stepped away from the job she loved so dearly. Along with her beloved son Sean, she decided to enjoy her time in a place she loved so very much, Kauai, Hawaii. After spending time in Hawaii she and Sean returned to Lake Havasu where her journey began many years ago. Laurel is survived by her son, Sean of Lake Havasu City; her sister, Patricia Farina of Taos, N.M.; and brother, Thomas Again Jr. of California. Laurel is preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Dee Dee and Marylou. Laurel loved life, she was a caring soul who left this earth much too early. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz- frazefuneralhome.com. |
