| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>>Published on Thursday, July 23, 2015 <<< Kathy was born Kathleen Marie Wilson, July 3, 1958 in Glendale, Calif., to Richard and Edith Wilson. She was the third of four children. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1977 and married Warren Cottom in 1979. They later adopted a son, Scott. As Warren was in the military, they lived in many different cities during their 30 years of marriage. They later divorced and Kathy settled in Lake Havasu City to be near her mother, sister and other relatives. In December of 2014, Kathy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She died in the early morning hours of July 13, 2015 at home in Lake Havasu City. She had just turned 57. It was a long and arduous journey, fraught with many obstacles, but Kathy made it to the end with dignity and grace. Throughout she maintained her usual positive attitude and sense of humor. She never complained and thought only of others right up to the end. She was a true inspiration to all of us. Memorial services have not yet been planned. An online memorial site is in progress at www.kathycottom.com. Please email to loved@kathycottom.com if you would like to be kept informed of memorial plans. Godspeed Kathy.
