| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Friday, July 17, 2015 <<< Phillip Lloyd Shapiro passed away at 69 years of age, July 11, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Marilyn Esther and Irving H. Shapiro, July 4, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He wed Monica Hope Lytle, May 25, 1987 in San Pedro, Calif.; they were married for 28 years. He grew up in Granada Hills, Calif., and lived in Sylmar, Calif., before moving to Lake Havasu City. Phillip served in the U.S. Army and he was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He retired from Boeing/Rocketdyne having worked with the Space Shuttle. He enjoyed the stock market, working in the garage and walking at the channel in Lake Havasu City. Phillip is survived by his wife, Monica H. Shapiro of Lake Havasu City; son, Cody William Shapiro of Lake Havasu City; and his brother, Terry Allen Shapiro of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marilyn and Irving Shapiro. In lieu of flowers please support Hospice of Havasu and Amyloidosis research.
