Donald Charles Hout, Oct. 1, 1944 – Jan. 9, 2018. Don was the sort
of man that if most people in the world were like him, we would all
be in a much better place.

Everyone who knew him was richer for it. Don lived an abundant life
that was reflected in his respect for all living things, his loyalty
and love for family and friends, and his quick wit, which was
peppered with a grand sense of humor.

Don was genuine, honest, kind, and always there to impart some
thoughtful words when troubles arose. He was as good a man as ever
lived through life’s joys and tribulations.

Don was born in Buffalo, New York, and lovingly adopted by Charles
John and Esther Stock Hout. Don graduated from Lancaster High School
and attended both State University of New York at Buffalo and Ithaca
College, where he met his wife Susie Joralemon. They were married in
1968 and raised their children in Lancaster, New York, and Bethel
Park, Pennsylvania. Don and Susie moved to Prescott in 1997.

Don’s business career was in medical electronics with emphasis in
cardiac care sales and installations. During a period in Prescott,
he worked in the YRMC business office. He retired in 2012. Don had
many interests over his lifetime - the farm and bee keeping, star
gazing, woodworking, world history and of course, culinary arts.

In the Pittsburgh area, Don was active in Rotary International and
held many posts at the Dormont-Mt Lebanon Rotary Club, where he was
honored to serve as president. Don was a volunteer at Prescott
People Who Care. Don leaves his beloved wife, Susie; son, Chris, and
grandsons, Nick and Nash; a daughter, Carolyn, and her husband,
Arick Minks; a mother-in-law, Patricia Joralemon, and an extended
family who loved him dearly.

A Friendship Gathering will be held at the Hidden Valley Clubhouse
(1615 Coyote Road) on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 3 - 6 p.m.

To honor Don’s memory, the family requests donation to or volunteer
service with People Who Care (PO Box 12977, Prescott, AZ 86304) or
to another service program of your choosing.

Affordable Burial & Cremation, LLC, of Chino Valley, Arizona,
handled all arrangements.
