United States Navy Seabee for 30 years, served in 50 different countries, retired. He was proud to have served his country. A long-time resident of Parker, Ariz., Russell passed away Jan. 2, 2018, in a Las Vegas hospital. He was born in Tipton, Mich. to Naomi and James McKenzie. He is survived by his wife, Lajuana McKenzie. He is also survived by two sons, Brent McKenzie of Parker, Ariz. and Russell Paul McKenzie Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; three step sons: Mark Migotti of Salinas, Calif., Keith Migotti of Salinas, Calif., and David Migotti of Las Vegas; and a step daughter, Vicki Stanko of Lewistown, Mont. He is also survived by eight grandsons, eight granddaughters, and six great granddaughters. He is also survived by two sisters: Lanora Steele and Elizabeth Ford in Bradenton, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, David McKenzie, and a sister, Dolores Coffe. Russell was an active member of the Parker Elks Lodge, BPOE 1929, in Parker, Ariz., where he served six years as secretary and was Exalted Ruler in 2005. He was also active in the upriver Veterans of Foreign Wars post, where he was Commander twice. His favorite sport was deep sea fishing. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
