| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, June 11, 2015 <<< Herb Criqui passed away, May 28, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 15, 1927 in Osage City, Kan., to the late Mary and Herbert Criqui, Sr. He married his long-time sweetheart, Beverly Neal, June 18, 1951 at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas. He joined the Merchant Marines when he was 17 years old and served two years in the Air Force; then moved to Santa Maria, Calif., where he worked for Western Electric, ITT, Kellogg and Federal Electric at Vandenburg A.F.B. for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Melvern, Kan. for 61 years; also a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion in Lake Havasu City. He raced stock and super modified cars in Santa Maria, Calif. and was an avid golf player. He leaves behind his wife Beverly of 63 years; three daughters, Sharla Cannon, LeEtta Criqui and Kyla St. Clair; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mary Ellen Arb and brother, Bill of Melvern, Kan. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three sisters and a brother. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
