| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 <<< Eugene Albert Zimmer “Gene” passed away at 92 years of age, June 4, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Warren Nathan and Olive Adele Zimmer, May 21, 1923 in Los Angeles, Calif. He was wed to Beverly McLeod in August of 1942 in Los Angeles, Calif.; they were married for 68 years. Eugene lived in Montrose, Calif. until 1978 and built his first home in La Cañada, Calif.; he retired from the L.A. County Fire Dept after 32 years and moved to Jackson, Wyo. for hunting and fishing. He moved to Lake Havasu City in 1998 where he enjoyed fishing and the beautiful sunsets with his wife, Beverly. He also enjoyed taxidermy, magic, boating, vacationing in Mazatlan and he loved to dance. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a member of the American Legion, and a devout Episcopalian. Eugene is survived by his sons, Robert D. Zimmer and Richard E. Zimmer; daughter-in-law, Judi Zimmer; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Zimmer.
