| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, August 17, 1994, p. A-2 Helen M. Abrams of Prescott, and a former Congress and Phoenix resident, died Aug. 12 at Meadow Park Care Center in Prescott. She was 81. Mrs. Abrams was born Jan. 17, 1913 in Warren, Pa., and had lived in Arizona for many years. She had been a bookkeeper all her life. Even after retirement, she kept the books for a few years for the Congress Water Company. She did needlework, but her true passion was reading. She was often seen at the Congress Library checking out books. She read about everything and was well versed. Mrs. Abrams was an active member of Shepherd of the Desert Catholic Church when she lived in Congress and was a member of Sacred Heart in Prescott. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 7 of this year. Mrs. Abrams is survived by her husband Don of Prescott; son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Peggy Abrams of Phoenix; daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Ronald Hanna of Prescott; brother Splendor M. Scalise of Phoenix; sisters Mary Larson and Juliette Thompson, both of Phoenix; grandsons Aaron and Matthew; and granddaughters Lora, Rosalie, Veronica, Letitia, Lani, Maureen and Robin. Services have been held. The Rev. Fred Le Claire, C.M.F., officiated. Interment was at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott handled the arrangements.
