Our beloved matriarch, Juanita Jewel Dunham, left us May 9, 2015 to be
with our Heavenly Father.

Born, March 1, 1930 to Jewel and Frank McFatridge in Chicago, Ill.,
she was later joined by a brother, Frankie.

Juanita moved to Anaheim, Calif., at a young age and started her own
family. She worked the majority of her life in and out of the
restaurant business and for many fine-dining eateries in the Southern
California area.

As her family grew, Juanita took great pride in all of her children
while providing a wonderful home life and education.

She moved to Lake Havasu City, during the late 80s. For the past 15
years, Juanita was a seasonal resident of the Santa Ynez Valley,
escaping annually from the hot Arizona sun. Two years ago she made the
decision to leave Havasu and settled into her daughter Lyn Hesford’s
Solvang home.

Quick to make friends in her new neighborhood, Juanita was known for
her fashionable attire, a love of gardening, food, parties and garage
sales (and selling); passions which have been instilled in her family.
Welcome at any gathering, she was admired for her energy, zest for
life, generosity and the way her face lit up when speaking of her
family.

In addition to her daughter Lyn, Juanita is survived by son, Larry
Kuhlmann (Nancy), of Mission Viego; daughter, Suzette Smith (Ken) of
Benicia; grandsons, Mark Hesford of Havasu, Todd Hesford of Mission
Viejo, Laurence Kuhlmann of Newport Beach, Keith Kuhlmann of Tustin;
granddaughter, Merissa Smith of Benicia and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, husband Paul Dunham and two
sons, Arthur Kuhlmann and Martin Kuhlmann.

She will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be at Old Mission Santa Ines, Saturday, May
30 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations in Juanita’s
name be made to Hospice Care and Visiting Nurses of Santa Barbara.
