Mary (Virginia) (Dixon) Pietrowski

Mary “Virginia” Pietrowski passed away at 85 years of age, May 19,
2015 in Vista, Calif. She was born to Hugh and Mary Dixon, April 30,
1930 in Inglewood, Calif. She graduated from Vista High School, Vista,
Calif. and attended Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif. In 1982, she
was wed to James William Pietrowski in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; they
were married for 25 years. She worked at Camp Pendleton, Okinawa,
George Air Force Base in accounting. She owned the Yodeler Restaurant
in Wrightwood, Calif. She has lived in Wrightwood, Calif.; Mammoth
Lakes, Calif.; Lake Havasu City; and in January of this year she moved
to Lake San Marcos, Calif.

Virginia was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church,
Catholic Daughters, Homebound Minister and the Lake Havasu Yacht Club.
She traveled with her husband many times to Maui, going on cruises and
traveling the country. She went to Ireland, London, Germany and
Austria with her sister, Gloria. She enjoyed gardening, baking,
cooking. She loved her dog, Millie, cat, Trixie and feeding the birds.

Virginia is survived by her sisters, Dolores Thomas of Magnolia,
Texas, Gloria Rummel of Lake San Marcos, Calif.; stepson, Jeffery
(Rosemary) Pietrowski of Durango, Colo.; and one step-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James William Pietrowski;
parents, Hugh and Mary Dixon; children, Steven Scruggs; and stepson,
Joel Pietrowski.

Visitation will be at 3 p.m., Friday, May 29 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral
Home with a rosary starting at 4:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be at 1
p.m., Saturday, May 30 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.
