Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Monday, May 18, 2015 <<< David Allen Croxell, a pioneer of Lake Havasu City, and a devoted and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and son, went to be with our Lord, May 10, 2015 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home in Mesa. David fought a valiant battle against cancer. At the age of 8, David and his family moved to Lake Havasu City from Griswold, Iowa in 1968. He and his wife Cindy Baker were members of the ninth graduation class of Lake Havasu High School in 1978. They were married in April 1997. David is survived by his wife Cindy; sons, Michael and Kevin Snelling; his parents Richard Croxell (Lynn) of Martinsville, Va., Louise Moran (Jerry) of Kingman; a sister, Theresa Croxell Bunch (Randy) of Gilbert, Ariz.; grand-daughter, Frankie Jo Snelling, and extended sisters Casey Bruno of Helena, Mont., Kelli Davis of Chandler, Ariz. and Shannon Hausler of Houston; an extended brother, Bill Morrison (April) of Martinsville, Va. David had been a carpenter for his dad while attending high school, delivered flowers for his mother from Havasu Florist and Gifts, graduated from a RSI Refrigeration Trade School in Phoenix, worked for Bashas’ Grocery Stores on the repair and refrigeration team. Later, he worked his last 10 years as the chief building inspector for the town of Queen Creek. David was a heart transplant recipient 9 1/2 years ago at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
