| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, January 25, 2018 <<< >>> 1941 – 2017 <<< It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, Gus Gilliard, 76, on Dec. 30, 2017 at the Polidori House in Lake Havasu City after a short battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Gus was born in Sudbury, Ontario. He served in the Canadian Army 1962- 1965 and retired from Inco (The Big Nickel) in Sudbury. Our dad enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, listening to Elvis Presley and other oldies. Dad had a great sense of humor; he was a joker and loved to tease the ladies. Gus is predeceased by his parents, Emlie and Irene Gilliard, and three brothers, Ernest, Lawrence, and Raymond Gilliard. He is survived by two brothers, Wilfred (Fay), Robert (Fran), and many nieces and nephews. Gus has five children: Dwane of Kelowna, British Columbia, Deborah (Gordon) of Kelowna, British Columbia, Bobbi-jo of Calgary, Alberta, Robbyn (Rob) of Kitchener, Ontario and Darren of Kitchener, Ontario. He also will be missed by his 17 grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren. At Gus’s time of passing, he was with his beloved daughters, Deborah, Robbyn and granddaughter Jessica. A special thank you to those who took care of our dad at the Polidori House in Havasu. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gus Gilliard’s name to Hospice of Havasu’s Polidori House. |
