| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Monday, April 27, 2015 <<< Ruth Marie Grand passed away at 88 years of age, April 11, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. She was born to Marie in Oakland, Calif., Sept. 25, 1926. She wed John Grand, Nov. 27, 1952 in the State of Washington; they were married for 53 years. Ruth lived in Salinas and Oakland, Calif. She moved north to Alaska, then to Lynwood, Wash. She lived in Arizona for the last 10 years. Ruth owned a bar and restaurant at the age of 18; she was a great cook. She enjoyed camping with the Square Wheelers Group, volunteering, and hosting parties. She was a member of Elks Club, Eagles, American Legion, Blue Gavel, and Puget Sound Yacht Club. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Peter) Werner of Los Gatos, Calif.; granddaughter, Sylvia and son-in-law, Marty Fernandes; great- granddaughters, Gina and Nicole of Sacramento, Calif.; great-grandson, Greg of Sacramento, Calif. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Grand. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
