| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 23, 2018, page 6a Ellen Irene (Johnson) Bea passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Maui Care Home in Peoria, Arizona. The daughter of Grace and Alvin Johnson of Maysville, Missouri, “Irene” was born June 20, 1921. She married her sweetheart, Willis Bea, in 1937. After living in Kansas and Missouri for several years, Bill and Irene moved to Orangevale, California, to be closer to their son, Alvin LeRoy Bea and his growing family. The couple moved to Prescott Arizona, in 1987. They were members of Prescott’s Lions Club, Rotary Club and Newcomers Club. Additionally, Irene was a faithful friend, providing transportation for her friends to various concerts, Dominoes games and more. Irene is survived by her son, Alvin Leroy Bea, of Glendale Arizona; grandchildren, Bill Bea (Prescott) and Diana (Bea) Lawrence (Globe); and step-daughters, Annie (Tobin) Fishman, Mary (Wemyss) Miranda of Phoenix, and Rene (Wemyss) LaPlante of Crystal, Minnesota; 14 great- grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; sister, Inez Gartland of St. Joseph Missouri; and granddaughter, Tracy (Bea) Lawrence of Prescott. A Memorial Service is planned for family and friends on Friday, Jan. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at Thumb Butte Park in Prescott. Best Funeral Home in Peoria, Arizona, handled arrangements.
