| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 24, 2018, page 6a Lora M. Drake, of Prescott, Arizona, died on Jan. 20, 2018, peacefully in Evanston, Illinois. She was 71. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Dr. Samuel Lebow and Janet (Bloch) Lebow, Lora laid her path in life from the shores of Lake Michigan to the East Coast and then in Prescott. Lora received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin in the late ‘60s before settling in New York, where, on a blind double date, would meet and spend almost 35 years with her beloved husband, Richard. From attending Woodstock in 1969 with 400,000 of her closest friends, to her bowling league to watching baseball and football with her family, Lora found love with those surrounding her. In her later years, she found enjoyment playing with her grandkids, as well as fighting hate through her support of the Jewish United Fund of Chicago and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Lora is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, a noted two-time Emmy-winning television director. She is survived by her two sons, David A. Drake and Jeffrey M. Drake, along with her five grandchildren, Rachel, Eli, Nathaniel, Luciana and Josephine. Service and interment will be on Jan. 25, 1 p.m., at Heritage Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Prescott, www.jcfgp.org. Information provided by survivors. |
