| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 24, 2018, page 6a Chester Allen Abel went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, in Prescott, Arizona. He was 75 years old. Chester was born on Sept. 13, 1942, in Alexandria, Indiana, the eldest son of Albert and Esther Abel. Chester began his career as a ranch hand, before becoming a journeyman sheetmetal man for Mesa Public Schools. He spent over 30 years working for Fitch Construction, then finished his career as a custodian for the Apache Junction and Humboldt school districts. Chester was a devoted and loving husband, father and papa. He was a true cowboy, rarely seen without his boots and hat. He was a man of few words, who never met a stranger, and had a steadfast love for the Lord and his family. Chester was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship and was very involved in the church ministries, spending several summers helping in the youth camp. Chester is survived by his wife of 52 years, Francine Catherine Fitch Abel; his six children, Jody Graves, Kenny Warner, Andrew Abel, Rebekah Riley, Faith Abel, and Abe Abel; his 12 grandchildren, and his seven great-grandchildren. Services for Chester will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Heritage Memory Mortuary at 10 a.m. in Prescott. Information provided by survivors. |
