Richard E. (Dick) Willett, a long-time resident of Lake Havasu City,
passed away at Hospice of Havasu Dec. 30, 2017.

Willett was born in Tab, Indiana and spent his early life in the
Midwest. Following high school, Willett served in the U.S. Army from
February 1943 to January 1946. He was assigned to the Quarter Master
Corps where he earned three bronze stars.

Prior to moving to Havasu, Willett lived in southern California, where
he met Edna Palmer. They were married in 1981. He worked for McDonald
Douglas in Monrovia, as a manufacturing supervisor.

Following retirement, he and Edna operated a small traveling ice cream
concession, known as “Willie’s Walkies.” They worked several small
county fairs throughout California. In their free time, they enjoyed
RVing and had numerous camp outings to Mountain Lakes Resort. They
moved to Havasu in 1994 and quickly became part of the community.

Willett was active in the Elks, the VFW and the American Legion. He
was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and golf.

Willett is survived by his wife Edna, son, Michael (Libby); daughter
Vera Mount (Dan); stepson, Dennis Palmer (Randy); stepson, Daryl
Palmer (Jessica); stepdaughter Denise Palmer, and eight grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life at the Mountain View Club House on
Feb. 10 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box
597, Lake Havasu, AZ 86405.
