| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 <<< “Sam”, Samuel J. Griggs, a World War II veteran, entered into eternal rest, April 13, 2015 in Lake Havasu City at 90 years old. He was born to John S. and Vera Griggs, May 26, 1924 at Winchester, Wyo. Sam proudly served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Forces, Amphibians Group during World War II and upon the war’s end. He returned home and went to work in the oil fields where he met his soul mate, Edna. They married Nov. 8, 1946. Survivors are his son, Terry of Black Diamond, Wash.; and daughter, K.K. now residing in Lake Havasu City. Sam was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of American Legion, 63 years life member of B.P.O.E. #2399, and a charter member of Eagles #4299. Sam did and enjoyed a lot of things, saw a lot of the world, and always said he had no regrets. As per his request, no services are planned.
