Lucille H. Buckner passed away peacefully, April 11, 2015 at the age
of 106 in Lake Havasu City. Bucky, as she is known to her friends, has
lived in Lake Havasu City since 1971 and is known by many people in
the community. Born in 1908 in South Georgia, she was the last
surviving of 11 children born to John and Bessie Hart.

Bucky learned the value of hard work at a very early age; from picking
cotton as a child, waitressing as a teenager, being top in sales for
JCPenney during World War II, to her extensive career as a civil
servant for the Air Force. While her formal education went through the
eighth grade, she often spoke of her love of math, particularly
algebra.

Bucky was very competitive and loved golf and bowling. She was a well-
known and accomplished bridge player and a lifetime member of the
American Contract Bridge League. She remained as active as possible
throughout her life.

Bucky is preceded in death by her husband, Buck (1953); her parents,
John (1941) and Bessie (1939); and her brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her
adopted family, Dave and Jenny White and children Lauren and Jamie.

Services will be at a later date in Perry, Ga.

The family requests no flowers and that any donations be made to
Hospice of Havasu.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and
Crematory.

Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the Buckner family at
