Bernabe passed away at 82 years of age, April 2nd in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born to Arlette Prud’Homme and Rene Gennevois in Dakar, Senegal. She is the oldest of three children. She lived in Casablanca, Morocco and Rochester, New York before becoming a resident of Lake Havasu City in 1973. An original Havasu pioneer, she started Votre Beauty Salon and Ma Griffe Women’s Fashion Boutique and owned them until 2007. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Christopher and knitting for the family and clients. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and was fortunate enough to spend time with her great-grandchildren. Eliane was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Bernabe (died 2010) and her brother, Claude Gennevois. Eliane is survived by her son Christian Bernabe and his wife Mary of Gilbert, Ariz.; sister, Jocelyne Rieu and her husband Henri of Lake Havasu City; two grandchildren, Nicole of Tempe, and Kyle and his wife Chelsea and their daughters, Reagan, Tatum and Cameron of Chandler. |
