| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 <<< James Layton Kurtz, Jr. “Scooby Doo” passed away at 54 years of age, April 3, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Gwendolyn Ann Mary Gable and James Layton Kurtz, Sr. in Cleveland, Aug. 5, 1960. James was wed to Tenlee Marie Zadrozny in Las Vegas, Dec. 24, 1995; they were married for 19 years. James had lived in Ohio, California and Arizona. He enjoyed motorcycles, going to the lake, spending time with his family, playing pool, barbecuing, Western and Korean movies, eating sushi with his wife, rock ‘n’ roll music, helping others, and making people laugh. He was a member of Murphy’s Pool League and Bankers Pool League. James is survived by his wife, Tenlee Kurtz of Lake Havasu City; father, James Layton Kurtz, Sr.; stepmother, Marilyn Kurtz of Utah; stepfather, Lou Weintraub of Redondo Beach, Calif.; sons, Joshua Tisdale of Hubert, N.C., Dean Tisdale of Tucson; daughters, Tarra Metsker of Lake Havasu City, Ashten Arellano of Lake Havasu City; brother, Dean Kurtz; sisters, Cheryl Gilbrid, Sandy Silver, Julie Kreiger, Linda Lou Bouch; five grandchildren, Aleksa, Amalia, Alex, Tiberius, Axel and one more on the way; son-in-laws, Fernando Arellano of Lake Havasu City, and Frank Metsker.
