| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, April 2, 2015 <<< George John Baran, 76, passed away March 30, 2015 at the Polidori House in Lake Havasu City. He was born Aug. 19, 1938 in Chicago. George served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and was honorably discharged. He married his wife, Mona Marie May 20, 1989 and together they moved to Lake Havasu City 10 years ago, coming from Orange, Calif., where they lived for 15 years. George enjoyed woodworking, metalworking, gunsmithing, traveling, hunting, fishing, boating and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the LHC Yacht Club and the Elks Club. He will be deeply missed. George is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mona Marie Baran of Lake Havasu City; daughter, LoriAnn (Rodney) Gahm; step-daughters, Kate (Mark) Whalen and Karen (Jim) Skaggs; step-sons, Dean (Jan) Hellickson and Mark (Ashley) Hellickson; sister, Juanita (Bob) Sachs; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and a brother. Services will be announced at a later date.
