| Prescott Weekly Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Friday, December 5, 1902, page 2, column 2 Charles Dickinson, widely known as 'Uncle Dick,' died in Prescott last Saturday morning, aged 83 years. He was a bright and well red man, and up to a few years ago was a man of far more than or linary physien' strength and activity. He was one of the pioneer shoemakers of this city, and ran a shop here for a number of years. Of late, he had been of feeble health. He had been a friend of T. S. Bullock, who built the old reliable tax-paying P. & A. C. railroad into Prescott. It is stated that he had favored Mr. Bullock in some way years ago, and that Mr. Bullock provided the truth of the adage that 'A friend in need is a friend indeed,' by remembering the old man in a substantial way from time to time. The funeral took place at 3:30 yesterday from the undertaking parlors of S. A. Logan. Transcriber's note: Mr. Dickinson is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona. |
