Ruth Marie Richardson, 97, passed away Jan. 22, 2018 in Lake Havasu
City.

She was the daughter of Arthur and Constance (Theys) Renard, born on
Aug. 23, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan.

Ruth Renard met her true love, Robert Gordon Richardson, on a blind
double date. He was an airman for the Royal Canadian Air Force on
leave in Detroit, and he loved her the moment he saw her. They eloped
to Canada on July 24, 1941 and were blessed with 55 years together
before Robert went to be with the Lord in 1996.

Ruth served her country during WWII as a secretary for the United
States Air Force while her husband spent the next three years as a
commander overseas.

Family was everything to Ruth. She loved to cook, decorate cakes and
she taught her daughter to sew. She enjoyed loving her daughter Mimi’s
three dogs, Coco, Carrie, and Dodger. She loved the Lord and was a
member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. She was a blessing to all who
knew her and she will be deeply missed.

Ruth lived all her life near Detroit, Michigan. In 2016, she flew
across the country to Havasu with her cat, Zoe. She lived at Prestige
Assisted Living until October 2017, when she moved to live with her
family “because they had puppies.”

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Robert Richardson; parents
Arthur and Constance Renard; sons Robert Gordon Mackay Richardson and
Warren Campbell Richardson; siblings Arthur, Willard, Donald, and
Louise.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Amy (Mimi) and her husband
Curt Schmaltz; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one
great-great-grandchild, Elisabeth Ruth.

A memorial service is at Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb.
17, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mount Olive Praise Band
or Wheels for Christ.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Thoughts
