James I. Chillquist (Chilli), of Prescott Valley, who enjoyed his
life to the very fullest every day, went to rest in the arms of the
Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. He was born in Little Falls,
Minnesota.
Chilli was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
soldier, veteran, brother, friend, and protector.
Chilli leaves behind many who love and miss him, including wife,
Edwina; children, James, Jamie, Paula, Marie, Randy and Christal; 13
grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Chilli was always ready to help others in any way. He played Santa
during his time in Oklahoma and coordinated many toy runs to ensure
children would have a special gift from a Santa who loved them. He
also would place a wreath and share a kind word at the Soldier’s
Memorial every Memorial Day and Veterans Day to ensure all who gave
their lives protecting our freedom were never forgotten. He was a
man of character all his own, who was willing to teach and share his
experiences.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Chilli’s birthday on June 5,
2018, to allow for friends and family to ride in from out of state.
We will all love and miss him.
