Leroy V. Anderson, 74, born Feb. 27, 1943, in Minneapolis,
Minnesota,
died Jan. 25, 2018, in Prescott, Arizona.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott, Arizona, 86303.

Leroy “Lee” Virgil Anderson, 74, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away
Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at his home in Prescott, Arizona.

Lee was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Virgil and
Alice Anderson. He graduated from De La Salle High School in
Minneapolis in 1961, and continued his education at the University
of Minnesota, earning a bachelor’s degree in History. He was
commissioned in 1966 as a Second Lieutenant in the United States
Marine Corps Reserve. After multiple duty stations, a tour in
Vietnam and attaining the rank of Captain, he left the Marine Corps
to continue his pursuit of learning, obtaining an MBA from
Pepperdine University and then attending Western State College of
Law.

Following his military service, Lee became the administrator at
Barstow Community Hospital. Lee moved to Victorville where he met
Trish in 1982. Trish and Lee were married in 1986 after sharing a
love of bridge. He changed fields and became a Special Ed teacher at
Victor Valley Junior High School and retired after 17 years.

After retiring in 2005, Trish and Lee moved from Apple Valley,
California to Prescott, Arizona. Throughout his life he enjoyed
bowling, golfing, duplicate bridge, and watching his kids swim. He
had a love for music, the Marine Corps, all of his kids, and all
things football, especially the Minnesota Vikings and the Golden
Gophers.

Lee is survived by his wife, Patricia (McMillan) Anderson of
Prescott, Arizona; two sons, Thor Patrick Anderson of Fargo, North
Dakota, and Craig (Theresa) Anderson of Forest Lake, Minnesota; a
daughter, Lisa (Rob) Doherty of Macomb, Minnesota; two step-sons,
Brian Dunlap of Eureka, California, and Timothy (Stephanie) Dunlap
of Bradenton, Florida; two step-daughters, Julie (Jeffery) Fernstrom
of Chicago, Illinois, and Erin Dunlap of Apple Valley, Minnesota;
two sisters, Alice Anderson of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Yvonne
“Bonnie” Anderson of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; one brother, Rev. Andy
Anderson of Somerset, Wisconsin, seven grandchildren and several
nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Virgil and Alice
Anderson; the mother of his children, Mary Anderson; brother-in-law,
Gary Armstrong; his step-son, Donie Dunlap; and his nephew Matthew
Armstrong.

Lee was a devout Roman Catholic and a man of faith. He attended
daily mass at Sacred Heart Church in Prescott, Arizona, where he
served as an eucharistic minister and lector. He began his study
with the Holy Trinity Dominican Laity Chapter in 2006 and professed
a life-long commitment in 2013.

Fr. Andy Anderson celebrated the funeral mass at 11 a.m., Thursday,
Feb. 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott, Arizona.
Military honors followed the mass and interment will be at Cave
Creek National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
