Joseph Patrick Hughes

Joe Hughes, 54, died of a heart attack Oct. 19, 2017 in Washington
while visiting his sons.

He was the son of Louise Lee and John Hughes, born in Montebello,
California on Oct. 18, 1963.

At a young age, Joe joined the Army and served three years. In the
early 1990s, Joe and his family moved to Lake Havasu City. He worked
at McCulloch Inc. until the company closed. He then went to work at
Showplace Fashion Furniture in 1997 where he created a career for
himself and remained a loyal employee until the day of his passing.
Joe also picked up a second job in 2000 at Reds as the DJ, getting to
fulfill his love of music, and eventually meeting his wife of 18
years, Jennifer Gereghty.

Joe had a huge heart and a soft spot for anyone in need. He touched
the hearts of everyone he met. In 2013, Joe started volunteering at
SARA Park BMX where he became a part of the BMX family.

Joe is survived by Jennifer Gereghty, his wife of 18 years, daughters
Jessica, 30, Kristen, 21, sons Zack, 28, Josh, 23, Tanner, 16, and six
grandchildren Lexi, Brody, Dee, Penny, Xeda, Kaylynn, two sisters and
six brothers, including his twin.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.

Joe’s service is Feb. 11, 2:30 p.m., at Windsor Beach Lot 4. It is
open to all. The military service is at 3 p.m. This is a celebration
of Joe’s life, so please bring a dish and a beer!

In lieu of flowers, please donate to his family. Please take all
donations to Showplace Fashion Furniture, at 175 N. Lake Havasu Ave
where the staff will make sure the family receives it.
