Mark Lynn Koenig, 81, of Lake Havasu City passed away Feb. 5, 2018.
Mark was born on Thanksgiving Day in 1936, the son of Herbert and
Norma (Mann) Koenig. Mark attended Whittier Elementary, Mitchell
Junior High and graduated from Mitchell High School, class of 1954.
He was united in marriage to Carol Jane Palmer in August 1957. Mark
graduated from the University of South Dakota in June of 1960 with a
BS degree in applied science and engineering. During his working
career, Mark and his family lived in Iowa, Colorado and California. He
retired in 1997 and moved to Scotland, South Dakota, from Los Angeles.
Mark enjoyed skiing, golfing, shooting trap and sporting clays, and
upland bird hunting with his two bird dogs, Maggie I and Maggie II. He
was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Carol Palmer, and
his parents, Herbert and Norma Koenig.
Mark is survived by his son, Mark Koenig II of Cranbrook, British
Columbia, and daughter, Sara Payne of Colorado Springs, Colorado;
grandchildren Ben Koenig and Caroline Koenig of Kansas City, Kansas,
Alex Payne of Henderson, Nevada and Warren Payne of Colorado Springs,
Colorado.
