Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on friday, March 27, 2015 >>> Feb. 5, 1930 — March 17, 2015 <<< Louis Carl Hellermann age 85, passed away peacefully, with his wife Alice Mae (Hofer) and children by his bedside in Lake Havasu City. Louis was a resident in Lake Havasu for the past 15 years and enjoyed the desert living after many years living in the four seasons area of Marinette, Wis. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Max Hellermann; brother, Erwin Hellermann of Marinette, Wis. and his twin sister, Lois Hellermann of Omaha, Neb. He is survived by one sister, Mildred (Jack) Christiansen; and his wife Alice Mae (Hofer); sons, William (Teresa), Daniel (Laura Ann); daughter, Sally Jane (Gerry) Allen; grandchildren, Trisha Lynn, Ashley Rae, Christian William, Blair Max, Corey David and Luke Anthony; and four great-grandchildren. Louis was married to his loving wife of 60 plus years, Alice Mae Hofer of Menominee, Mich. The two were married July 31, 1954 and were inseparable for the next 60 plus years enjoying golf, traveling, and just hanging out and enjoying family and church activities. After attending Valparaiso College, he went on to work with his father Max and brother at a shipyard in Marinette, which his father helped found. Louis retired at the age of 62 from Marinette Marine. He was a “March Madness” basketball junkie and never missed the brackets layout and the final pairings. The Green Bay Packers also was a team he adored and he followed the Wisconsin Badgers closely as well. One of his life’s highlights was attending the 1984 Olympics in California with his best friend and brother-in-law Fred Hofer and spouses. Louis will be cremated by the Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences can be sent directly to Louis' family or through www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
