| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 - John “Johnny” Alan Wise 60, of Lake Havasu City, returned to his heavenly home, March 8, 2015 due to a long illness with cancer. His firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. John was a native Californian, born on June 20, 1954. He graduated from Western High School in Anaheim, CA. June was his partner in life, and they were devoted to each other for more than 19 years. John served in the U.S. Army for four years, is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. John worked as a truck driver and a mechanic for many years, knew everything about engines. He worked for Republic Services for more than ten years as a truck driver. He enjoyed watching football, anything car related, camping boating and surfing and was an avid fisherman. He loved the southern California ocean. He loved to eat, had an extremely healthy appetite especially for beer and pizza. He is survived by the love of his life, June; his parents, his son, his daughter, a brother and a sister and other family members and many friends, neighbors and beloved dogs. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, stepfather, brother-in-law and two older brothers. John requested to be cremated and will be interred at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. See Also: Find A Grave |
