Terry made his final lap and crossed the finish line Feb. 3 at
Granite Creek Rehabilitation Facility in Prescott.
He was born to Larmon and Vivian (Shepherd) Blanckaert on July 3,
1944, in St. Louis, Missouri. However, he was raised most of his
life in Lakewood, Colorado, and graduated from Lakewood High School.
Most of Terry’s passions revolved around cars, which led him to his
fulfilling career as an auto mechanic and his participation in
various types of auto racing. Terry had a strong sense of
independence and enjoyed having his own business repairing his
customers’ cars.
Terry married the love of his life - Eileen (Behm) - on June 29,
1980, and they moved to Wisconsin, living in the rural Lomira and
Theresa area. They retired to Dewey, Arizona, in 2012. Terry enjoyed
socializing and was a life member of the Elks, as well as being a
member of the Moose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law and his
brother, Larry Blanckaert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Blanckaert; sons, Terry
(Lisa) Blanckaert and Tim (Brittany) Blanckaert; and daughter,
Shauna Stokes. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry (Cheri),
Gary (Connie), and Barry Blanckaert, as well as his sister, Mary
McGee and brother-in-law, Bill (Laurel) Behm and sister-in-law,
Brenda (Paul) Schultz. He also leaves behind a grandson, Josh
(Christine) Hook and regretfully will miss the birth of his first
granddaughter, Lacey-Mae Blanckaert, later this month. He is also
survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and
friends.
There will be a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb.
9, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley. The family
will greet friends and family from 10 a.m. until the time of
service. Internment will take place at a later date at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church cemetery in Lomira, Wisconsin.
Special thanks to Pastor Stephen Hein and the Christ Lutheran Church
congregation for their abounding love and support. Memorials in
Terry’s honor may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church (3300 N.
Navajo Dr., Prescott Valley, Arizona, 86314) or Winnebago Lutheran
Academy (475 E. Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, 54935).
