| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, February 16, 2018, page 5a It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Jones announces his passing on Feb. 14, 2018, at the age of 70. Gary was the beloved husband of Janet for nearly 40 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Nicole, of Hermosa Beach, California. He was preceded in death by his dearly loved son Brett. Gary will be sadly missed by his many friends and family who were blessed to have known him. Gary was one of four children born to the late Franklin and Bernice Jones on July 29, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his brother, Glenn, of Indian Head Park, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his brother, William, and sister, Marlene (Tamburo). Gary served in the U.S. Air Force as a Minuteman Missile Mechanic in Great Falls, Montana. After his enlistment, he embarked on a 20-year career as an Electrical Engineer for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company and then worked for various private engineering firms until his retirement in 2007. He and Janet then moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, and enjoyed 10 years of friendship in their new community. Gary enjoyed Geocaching, camping, hiking and the company of his family and friends. In remembrance of Gary, a viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. until noon at Sunrise Funeral Home at 8167 E. Hwy. 69, Prescott Valley. Information provided by survivors. |
