Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on Friday, February 23, 2018 - Nicodemus Leroy Chavez, 76, of Lake Havasu City, passed away Jan. 20, 2018. Nick was born on June 22, 1941 in Los Angeles to Nicodemus and Dora Chavez. Nick graduated from Cerritos College in Norwalk, California. He married his loving wife, Sharon Ann Day, on June 22, 2014 in Lake Havasu City. Nick and Sharon shared 24 years together before they married on Nick’s birthday. They had two daughters in Havasu and lived in their dream home for the past 10 years. Nick loved gardening, politics, and most of all, his family. Nick was preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia Chavez. Nick is survived by his wife, Sharon Chavez; parents Nicodemus and Dora Chavez; son Joey Day; sisters, Genet Gomez and Pat Preston; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nick’s Celebration of Life is at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Saturday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
