WINTERS, Robert Eugene


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on March 6, 2018 - Robert Eugene Winters, 90, passed away peacefully Feb. 17, 2018. He was born Oct. 11, 1927, the son of Tommy and Julia Winters. Robert, a World War II Veteran, served as a private in the Army. He worked in the coal mines of Kansas prior to and shortly after his service. He earned the Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and was honorably discharged in December 1946. Robert moved to California in 1955 where he began his career with General Motors as a high-low driver on the production line. Robert retired to Camp Verde, Arizona in 1983 and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1990. He is now rejoined with the love of his life, Jacqueline, who preceded him in death in October 2005. He is survived by his beloved dog Bailey, children Steven, Debbi, Sandy, Tim, Danny, and Tom along with their spouses. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Bash. He has 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; the most recent born Feb. 6, 2018. Robert was blessed to have many, many friends and will be missed by all, especially Zack and Tracie Davis. Thank you to Hospice of Havasu for providing assistance, support and excellent end-of-life care. Robert’s memorial service is Saturday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at Lietz- Fraze Funeral Home.
