| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, October 11, 2017, p. A-5 The beloved wife of William Duke passed away Sept. 27. Bill and Cherry were married for 63 years. Cherry was born in Casseville, Mo., and at age seven her parents moved to East Highland, Calif., where she spent her early years. At 17 she met Bill and after a few years of courtship they married. They lived in Rialto, and Spring Valley, Calif., before moving to Wickenburg in 2005. She is survived by William Duke, daughters; Shelly Kuhn (Forrest), Cindy Vennie (Charles), and Sue Hayman (Paul). They have seven grandchildren; Kathy Kuhn, Christina Tcharkovsky (Sean), Elise Stewart (Greg), Courtney Hicks (Gary), Chad Galusha (Kelly), Carolyn Vennie, Jaclyn Vennie and two step-grandchildren; Troy Hayman (Jennifer) and Allison Slater, and 14 great-grandchildren. She leaves a sister; Tessie Ray and brother; Charles Reed (Karen). A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Located at 180 N. Adams St., with Pastor Jonathan Evans officiating. |
