Tempe native Rawnie Ramsey Fisher (79) passed away in peace Oct. 2. The daughter of Kyrene District farmers Leo and Helen Ramsey, she graduated from Tempe High in 1956 and remained active with Tempe High School reunions and the Tempe Old Settlers Group. Rawnie excelled in homemaking projects in 4-H club, earning a trip to Chicago as one of her many awards. She met her future husband John Sparks III in 4-H and had two sons. Rawnie later married realtor Tom Fisher. The couple moved to Prescott where Rawnie volunteered at the School for the Deaf and Blind, successfully writing annual grant-funded projects. They later moved to Apache Junction where Rawnie worked for AT&T until retiring. During retirement, she toured Arizona, and saw fall leaf colors in Maine, and even whales in Mexico.

Survivors include brothers Randall and Kenneth, (Sandy); sons John, (Julie) and Jim, (Cynthia); grandsons John, Jake, (Katie) and Jesse, (Heather); four great-grandsons, three great granddaughters and many nephews and nieces.
