The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona

Dale Ronald Fox, 81, passed away on March 15, 2018, in Prescott,
Arizona. Ron was born March 25, 1936, in Sunbury, Pennsylvania,
during the 1936 Susquehanna Flood, to Alfred and Helen Fox.

The flooding was so severe, his mother took a rowboat to the
hospital.

Ron spent his childhood in Sunbury with his five siblings.
Determined to attend college, he worked many odd jobs from
construction to hospital orderly to pay his tuition. In 1958, he
graduated from Bloomsburg University with a B.S. degree, and soon
after was accepted into the Navy’s Flight Program. After flight
training in Pensacola, he was stationed at NAS Barbers Point in
O’ahu, Hawaii. This fortuitous placement allowed Ron to meet his
future wife, Maizie.

In 1964, Ron took a job flying jets with TWA out of JFK Int’l
Airport.

He remained in the Naval Reserve at Floyd Bennet Field. Ron and
Maizie were married in 1965 in the Church of Scotland in Warwick,
Bermuda. In 1967, Ron and his family moved to Toms River, New
Jersey, where they raised their three children: Rhonda, Todd and
Dale. Over the years, Ron logged many flight hours. He shared his
love of travel with his family. He swept his family away on
vacations or weekend getaways all over the world and instilled in
them a passion for travel and unique experiences. Ron’s retirement
from TWA in 1996 was bittersweet, but he was proud to have his
family accompany him on his final flight to Rome.

After retirement, Ron and Maizie traveled many miles in their motor
home across the USA and eventually settled down in Dewey, Arizona.

Their house quickly became a gathering place for family and friends.
Ron was always proud and happy to have his children and
grandchildren fill the house for holidays and celebrations. Ron was
an avid and dedicated member of the Mingus View Presbyterian Church
and built a close circle of friends during his life.

Wherever Ron went, he touched lives and created a legacy of love and
devotion. His giving nature extended to family and strangers alike.
He could often be found preparing gift bags for mission projects,
driving his grandchildren around on his tractor, or entertaining his
many friends with his engaging stories.

Ron was proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Helen Fox; and
siblings, Tonia Lawrence and Barry Fox.

He is survived by his wife, Maizie Fox; and children, Rhonda, Todd
(Angela) and Dale (Erin); grandchildren, Zoie, Zion, Audrey and
Erik. Siblings, Dawn Diemer, Pamie Shipe and Tony Fox also survive
him. A Memorial Service was held Monday, March 19, 2018, at 4 p.m.,
at Mingus View Presbyterian Church, 8340 E. Leigh Drive in Prescott
Valley, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Mingus View
Presbyterian Church, Memorial Fund-Missions.
