| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on Sunday, March 25, 2018 - Audrey Irene (Hentgen) Palmer, 91, passed away in Lake Havasu City on March 13, 2018. She was born to Ernest and Sarah (Sadie) Hentgen in Cogswell, North Dakota on Oct. 2, 1926. Audrey graduated from Stirum High School in Stirum, North Dakota in 1943 and went on to Jamestown College where she graduated with an associate arts degree in 1945. She taught elementary school in Hankinson and Enderlin, North Dakota. Audrey met her true love, Richard Palmer, and they were married Nov. 24, 1946. They were blessed with 71 years together. Audrey returned to school and earned her bachelor’s degree from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1969. She taught school for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Eastern Star. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Sarah Hentgen, and daughter Marlys Freed, who passed away in 2009. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Palmer, sons Richard (Karen) and Robert (Debbie) Palmer, six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
