| Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona - Posted on February 14, 2018 - Julie Marie Benjamin passed peacefully on Jan. 23, 2018, with her family by her side in Kerrville, Texas at the age of 67. Julie was born to Ernest and Betty Roddick in South Hampton, Bristol, England on April 25, 1950. She is survived by her father, Ernest Roddick, and second mother, Joyce; her husband, Roger Benjamin; sister Linda Roddick; brother Terry Roddick and his wife, Janice; son Richard Peterson; daughters Wendy Peterson and Shantel Feague; grandchildren Ryan Gray, Rebecca Peterson, Trevor Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews in the USA and her family in the United Kingdom. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Roddick (1988) and her granddaughter, Lyndzey Gray (2015). Nurse Julie, as she was popularly known, worked at the La Paz County Jail as the head nurse for 20 years. Prior to that, Julie was an ER nurse for 20 years in Southern California, caring for and showing compassion to those in need. She volunteered as the team mom for her grandson’s football team and was always available to help at La Paz Regional Hospital whenever she was needed. She and her husband, Roger, lived in Parker for almost 30 years until they both retired in 2015 to become snowbirds. They traveled across the USA with their faithful dog, Roxy. Julie loved to cook, and no one ever left her table feeling hungry. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement. She was a lady with a golden heart, always giving to others, but never wanting anything in return. Until we meet again. |
