Martha Isabell Fisher passed away peacefully Feb. 8, 2018 surrounded
by family and friends in Tucson AZ.

Martha “Marti” was born April 29, 1941 in Bouse, Ariz. to Inez Rojas
Lopez. She fondly remembered, as a child, selling empanadas in Bouse
with her sister Dolly that her grandmother had made and tending to the
many animals her family had on the Lopez Ranch which is west of Planet
Ranch.

She is survived by her son Augie Jr., (Geri), daughter-in-law Brenda
(Bruce) Bequette, Seattle, WA, Ken, (Dottie) Haydis, Manhattan Beach,
CA, Georgette & USMC Col. Jim Schaefer (Retired), Nipomo, CA, and
sister Caryn (Thomas) Womack, Little Rock, AR. Grandchildren, Randi
Jane, Jeremy Fisher, Sierra, Kyle Bequette, Matt Haydis and Lyndsey
Gunson.

She is predeceased by son Randy Fisher and several family members.

As a young child she often had to work helping her mom and family at
various local Parker cafes’; Mrs. Smith’s Little Café, The Branding
Iron, The Corner Drug Store, and Midway Café come to mind.

After spending some years in California raising her children, she
returned with her kids to Parker in 1965. She was able to find part
time work at the Parker Professional Plaza, two days a week as a
dental assistant for Dr. Dodson, DDS, and two days a week as a medical
assistant for Optometrist’s Dr.’s Huffman and Relling, OD. She also
tended bar at the Bull Pen in the mid 70’s.

In early 1978 Marti got her first full time job when she started
working as a dental assistant for Dr. Larry McEntire, DDS, and
retiring 33 years later as the office manager in late 2011 shortly
after Dr. McEntire had retired.

Some of the things that Marti enjoyed; working on her yard,
maintaining her house and caring for her dogs. She derived great joy
from traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and the many
parties that she had over the years for family and friends. We will
also miss her delicious tamales she made during the Holiday Season.
She was quite adventurous and loved hiking. She hiked the Grand Canyon
many times going from the South Rim to the North Rim and back to the
South rim, with her friend Judge Irwin and his wife Phyllis. She also
hiked down to Phantom Ranch, with Geri, where they spent the night
celebrating her 53rd birthday and hiked out the next day. In her later
years she enjoyed watching the Blackhawks play.

Special thanks to Bayada Home Health Care and to Casa De la Luz
Hospice Care Tucson, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make a
donation to your local Humane Society.
